South East Plein Air

Any suggestions for the first group paint out 2011??
  • Michael McGuire

Cahir is nice, Sandra. But perhaps a bit too far away for most of us this time of year. Definitely worth considering for spring/summer though. Edenvale may be a local possibility - the light's not too bad there this time of year and if it's cold and windy, at least we'll be sheltered. Johnstown Castle is always a possibility too this time of year, before everything goes mad green!

Some links to possible paintout locations around Co. Wexford and beyond...

Just thinking about Glendalough, Co wicklow. Is that too far for many of you? http://www.glendalough.ie/
  • Karen Scannell

Hi Lize,  thanks for the suggestion-Glendaough would be beautiful..we'll see if there are any more takers? Car pooling might lighten the travel costs...... Anyone else interested?
  • Karen Scannell

As you can see on our paintout schedule, June 19th has been earmaked for Waterford's "Copper Coast". Suggestions for where exactly our group could meet up, and favoured locations, would be gratefully appreciated...Karen
  • Karen Scannell

How does anyone feel about Glendalough sometime in the summer as Lize suggests? We could schedule it "in between" weeks if anyone is interested...carpooling would make sense....
  • Michael McGuire

I'd be up for it Karen. But definitely car pooling because as far as I know the car park three has gotten very pricey.
  • Geraldine Donohoe

Glendalough would be very handy for me!

  • Kevin Freeney

Would love to be there. I think we should get as many Kevins as possible in the Glen.
  • Paul Freeney

That would make a nice initiation to the group for me as I would not have too far to travel. Say cheese everyone :)
  • Kevin Freeney

Maybe we could hire a bus if we had the numbers, though I know people like to be independant. But think of the sing song on the way; "Yellow Submarine", "Red Sails in the Sunset", "Blue Suede Shoes" would cover the primary colours and what about "I Don't Like Sunhaze"...
  • Margaret Kent

    Great idea Kevin!
  • Michael McGuire

I'll walk rather than get on that bus!
  • Geraldine Donohoe

But not 'I see a red door and I want to paint it bla.......''
  • Lize Human

the bus sounds better than travelling alone!
  • Karen Scannell

Anyone know a man, who knows a man who has a bus.(or woman for that matter)????

....that's not " a man who knows a woman, but a woman who knows a man who knows a woman who has a bus.......that's a "bus"not a .....ahh forget it

  • George McHugh

    What's all this business about?
  • Kevin Freeney

I know a man who is going to have a word with a man who has a bus re the cost of hiring said bus for the facilitaton of women and men artists wishing to travel to Glendalough for Summer Paint Out.
