SUMMARY:The Turfman from Ardee, PEBV
DESCRIPTION:Come and join me this coming Saturday to paint in the love
 ly town of Ardee in the wee county.  Originally called Atherdee, its 
 name comes from the irish Ath Fhirdia – the forth of Ferdia, from th
 e mythological four day battle between Cuchulainn and Ferdia for the d
 efence of Ulster from Queen Maeve of Connacht.  Ferdia fell after fou
 r days of battle and is buried on the southern banks of the river Dee.
   There is a beautiful bronze in the car park (the photo I used for t
 he event) and you can park here and draw or paint from the shelter of 
 your car in the car park which is across the road from our meeting poi
 nt - Muldoons bar and restaurant.  There is a lovely riverside walk f
 or those who like a quieter places, as well as busy street views inclu
 ding the castle.  If you drive out any of the roads you will find ple
 nty of vistas and of course you will all be familiar with the Turfman 
 from Ardee so nicely sung by Dermot O'Brien, so you can find your way 
 out to the bog . There is also a few  castles, the jumping church, an
  out of use train station which may be of interest so I hope there wil
 l be something for all who venture to this our first time meeting in A
