DESCRIPTION:Annagassan is a small costal village between Dundalk and D
 rogheda.  It hit the headlines in 2011 when remains of a Viking fotre
 ss were found.  It has since returned to its peaceful self. It is sit
 uated on the southern edge of Dundalk Bay, overlooked by the Cooley an
 d Mourne Mountains.  There is a little pier, an old mill and a stone 
 bridge over the River Glyde where it enters the sea.\n \nWe will meet
  in the Glyde Inn in the centre of the village for coffee/breakfast at
  11 a.m. and return there about 3.30.  \n \nTo get to Annagassan fro
 m M1 – take Exit 15 for Castlebellingham.  When you reach the villa
 ge of Castlebellingham turn right onto Drogheda road.  Take next left
  (signpost Clogherhead) R166 and continue to Annagassan.\n
