DESCRIPTION:Barntown Quarry is an interesting site to paint just a cou
 ple of miles outside Wexford. It can be a bit mucky underfoot if its b
 een raining, but it is well worth the trouble.\n\nDirections from sout
 h: From Mountain Bar on the New Line Road (R733 Wexford to Wellingtonb
 ridge), turn North. Follow the road right, uphill to its apex. Take th
 e wide track to the right (just after a very modern dwelling set back 
 on the right and the quarry is approx 250metres drive further along. p
 ark at the boulders.\nOr, from the Maldron Hotel Roundabout on N25 jus
 t outside Wexford:take New Ross exit, then first exit left (signed for
  the famous Paul Maloney Pottery). Drive uphill about 3km to a T-junct
 ion, take left and then immediate right turn. Drive further 100 metres
  and then take a right fork marked in stone 'Matts Lane'. This brings 
 you to the other side of the quarry to the southern approach but it is
  a small site so you should have no trouble finding other painters. Ag
 ain, park near the stone boulders.\n\nNB This paint out replaces Rathd
 rum as our destination as so many are unable to make that venue. Hopef
