DESCRIPTION:Come join us this coming saturday in the medieval grounds 
 of Bective abbey Co Meath.These well perserved ruins consists of build
 ings dating from the 12th century. Initially these buildings housed mo
 nks , who partook in prayer, scholarly study, and cultural creativity.
  Founded in 1147 by Murchadh o melaghin the high king of ireland ( at 
 that time ) and passed through many hands down through the centuries, 
  before falling into bad repair.The majority of the site consists of 
 buildings dating from the 15th century where one can still witness a Â
  sculpture of a kneeling monk in the south cloister.....In 1995 Mel Gi
 bson filmed parts of  his epic film braveheart both here and in trim.
 \nWe plan on meeting up in Fergies pub in Kilmessan ( otherwise known 
 as F.P.Maguires) at 11 am  for the usual, teas/coffees, chat agus cra
 ic....R161 , 15 minutes from Trim, 6 miles from Navan, and 50 minutes
