 r tea and scones or breakfast.  Slane is still holding on to some of 
 its autumnal splendour and we have a choice of wooded landscape, rolli
 ng pastures, ancient ruins, historic village, and river or canal.  To
  get to Slane I suggest you avoid the M1 as there is a detour on the c
 onnecting road to Slane.  Equally convenient for anyone travelling fr
 om Dublin is the N2 from Finglas.  It will bring you straight into Sl
 ane.  The Old Post Office is on the left of the crossroad in the cent
