Event Description

Next Sunday brings us to Fethard on Sea, near Hook head Co. Wexford. Hook Head is one of our Painting locations during  Our "Art In The Open Festival" in August. On Sunday we'll have a chance to explore the area in more detail, as Fethard on sea Village, and Fethard Harbour are little gems in themselves, and not far from Hook Head. Google Maps Link is on this Page .

The Plan for the day is as follows:
10.30 am - meet at Nevilles Bar in Fethard on Sea Village
11.00 am - You have a choice, to paint around the village itself, or paint Fethard Harbour,       which is about 10 mins. away from the village.
1.30 pm- You can either bring a packed lunch, or have lunch in Nevilles Pub.
2.30pm- Hook Head is about 15mins from Fethard on sea. For anyone who hasn't been there, it is highly recommended..
5.30pm- Finish up and head back to Nevilles for a "round-up of the day.

Spending the bank holiday weekend learning to paint in tempera. Have spent all day today preparing boards for the tempera 7 coats of rabbit skin size and whitening gesso a slow process but such a beautiful surface. As a result missed out on my drawing today.

I am also working on an 18 x 2 meter plein air painting!

For those unfamilar with the area, the spectacular cliffs of Baginbun Head and the adjoining beaches are only a five minute drive down the road from Fethard. Go straight through the village, over the bridge and about a half mile further on take a left. If it's busy, park along the road and walk. Otherwise drive on until you come to a sharp left-hand bend - park on the laneway at the bend and walk to the cliffs or beach (just a couple of hundred yards).

Karen,

Sorry that I will miss a couple of the next outings, for both the painting and also the social interaction!. Prior committments etc....

Really challanged by the daily sketch, that was a great idea.

Terry
