Event Description

An opportunity to attend this year's Watercolour Society exhibition in Dunlaoighre this saturday in the County Hall Dunlaoighre. I suggest we meet at 10.30am and see the exhibition before coffee and our usual chats. Then we can venture out for some painting - plenty of subjects in the harbour or the autumn colours in the People's Park.  Acess to Dunlaoighre via train or bus from city centre or by car via the M50

Bray sounds like a great idea and lots of places in Wicklow also to expore - a pity there is no group covering that area south of Dublin.  The Botanic Gardens are always a delight and there are other parks which may have sheltered areas suitable for winter paint outs

And the Botanic Gardens never cease to amaze.  We should be having beautiful autumn colours soon.

How about coming out to Bray?  You can get there by DART.  The harbour (and bar) and the seafront are nice.  The trip out from town ia lovely where it passes the sea areas, and I always look for the herons on Booterstown Marsh.

I hope to get out mid-week Daragh more often, and if I find a nice place Ill post it for anyone who might like to attend - any suggestions appreciated, in the greater Dublin area :)

I have changed the date to saturday as it would be a shame to travel all the way to Dunlaoighre and not be able to paint as well as seeing the exhibition.  Thank you for alerting me to the forecast Valerie, Norah

Where is the regular Saturday paint out?

Better stick to Friday then - even if the weather will be atrocious.  Sorry for confusing the issue.

I left sat free for the regular paint-out but I am free on both days.  The WC society usually have a large number of paintings and between that and lunch we may not do much plein air work regardless - any other thoughts on changing the day ?

Would you consider changing the date to Saturday 4th October?

Friday is going to be really wet, so painting outside will be difficult.  But the weather is supposed to be good on the Saturday.  Also, there will be demonstrations in the Watercolour Society Exhibition on Saturday, at 11.00am
