Wow, a yellow card already. I fully understand and even as I was uploading the images I kinda knew I was offside. Sorry about the misunderstanding on my behalf. It's been a few years since I did a complete painting outdoors but I am looking forward to joining in and having a go again. I will delete the images and if it's possible stay on as a member until my first genuine en plein air painting is complete, if this is allowed.
Cheers,
Tony.

Most certainly could not be regarded as an outdoor painter to date ..... and probably will be terrible at it ! ... but an artist should always be prepared to experiment .... if not ; they should get a day job !

Members need to be approved to join the Plein Eire West group, so I've added John Dinan as friend and am waiting for him! Meanwhile I'll have fun looking around this site. Some really nice stuff here!

Apologies, I will remove the non-plein air work! I must ask how exactly one applies to the Plein Eire West group?
Ipads could be used for working outside, but unfortunately I don't have one yet and probably won't get one for a while, they are absurdly expensive! Maybe in the future.

There you go- the real me! I'll put up some of my pics on the page. I did consider plein air painting with my laptop but it seems like it'd be pretty cumbersome! I like the feel of the trad brush/paint/pastel anyway. I'm living in Galway at the moment and would love the chance to meet up with others who want to paint together. If there are any groups there, please let me know!

Thank you for your welcome and thanks to my niece Sophie I got my pictures posted on site (the next time I have to do it will be another story!). I am a member of the Lakeland Art Group. I became interested in plein air painting only in the last couple of years and it requires a huge effort on my part to get out there but when I do I really enjoy it.

Thank you for your welcome to the site. Its wonderful to see a community of artists together and also landscape painters too. I have been looking to connect with other plein air painters for some time, so this is great.

Sorry it wasn't a proper photo but I don't have one to hand. As soon as I can arrange it I will replace it with a real one!

Like Pat Cosgrove, I also did John Dinan's landscape painting course and loved it, so I am really looking forward to continue plein aire painting.

Thank you for lovely welcome! Really great site and looking forward to Wexford!!! I didn't manage to sign up from my own laptop. Sally did it remotely for me and it worked??? Don't know why!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Only starting out as a painter and very impressed with all the gorgeous artwork on this site. Just finished John Dinan's excellent painting workshop last week so full of enthusiasm :)

Dear Plein Eire Admin. Thanks for the Welcome!! First of all, I love the name of this community. Great! I found the site because I have a "google alert" set for plein air painting. One day your site came up on the search and I followed up.

hi,
thanks for reply - I wouldn't go to Wexford unless I took part in the painting weekend - I just don't want to enter any competitions at the moment. Anyway, I'll have a 'think'!

I'm seriously thinking about the weekend in Wexford - in this weather it would be heavenly - but I have to organise my Schedule first. May I ask, can one take part in the Festival in relaxed mode without actually entering any competition/exhibition? Thanks. Karmyl

Hi Plein Eire Admin,
Just to say 'hello' and thanks for Welcome! I've just posted a few photos to make myself more colourful! I go out occasionally on Sundays with the Dublin sketchers and I attend life drawing sessions in the Trinity Arts Workshop & the United Arts Club. Great site, well done! Karmyl
