I found this little WC sketch I did in Donegal on a paint away. Masking fluid is well and truly stuck so I'm afraid it is what it is - a memory of the peaceful sounds sitting there while my still sunk slowly in to the damp rush filled field.

Super work north, well captured and rendered.

Thank you Sean and Kyrle.  I could live in that deserted village it is beautiful and thanks to the Donegal group for sharing it with us. I tried scraping it off with a scapula but its stubborn like myself. I found a Ron ranson book in the charity shop he has great tips on painting from photos.

A beautiful watercolour, Norah.    The  gradations of colour in that improvised gate work brillantly and the contrast between the highlights and the darks really make the painting sing.

Norah, what a find!!, I wish I could re-discover something like this!  I don't have any problem with the lights from the fluid , they add sharp marks of interest and contrast in my humble opinion. very Ron Ranson like marks in fact. I certainly wouldn't have the courage to go at it with anything other than admiration, lucky accidents and all that is watercolour!!

Thank you Sally, that was behind some of the old cottages at the deserted village, sky lark was singing overhead - a wonderful day. Yes, it will be great to get to Mullagmore and a few days to paint and relax. I might run a pastel over it someday to dull down those bright marks in places

Norah what a beautiful painting. If you hadn’t said anything about masking fluid I would have thought you were up early enjoying a cold and frosty morning.

Pity about 12th lock today. We’ll get there eventually. Looking forward to Mullaghmore.
