5 days of painting on location in the beautiful surroundings to the north of Dublin. Tackling a different aspect of plein air painting each day, we will visit stunning sites with tonnes of inspiration for all.
We'll begin with a short study session each morning, a demonstration, discussion or presentation on themes such as how to select a subject, designing a painting, matching and harmonising colours, capturing atmosphere and creating focal areas. Then we'll head out to paint the wonderful boats, harbours, beaches and countryside.
With friendly support and guidance we will explore the possibilities of painting in the elements. This workshop is open to artists in all media with some experience of painting in their chosen medium.
Fee per person is 295 euros. Places may be secured with a 150 euro deposit.
Bookings are for the full 5 days from 10:00am to 5 :00pm
Please note that the fee includes the workshop only. No accommodation, meals or materials are included.
Hi Tracy - Phew! lucky guess on my part, huh?
Its great you are on board. I think you can link your blogs to the site, too although I haven't investigated how to do that yet, not having a blog myself.
Doesn't matter about having DS as a page, although perhaps leaving it might confuse other groups who join later and who are not so familiar with websites and such as you are. As far as the posted images go, your fellow members could reload them onto their own pages if they join up? Or you could put them onto your own personal page in a 'Dublin Sketchers' album if you like.
And are you all sketchers - do any of you paint outside as well? The hope is eventually groups from all corners of the country will post what they are doing and artists can take part here and there if they are in the area or fancy a weekend off somewhere. I'm delighted to see Rayleen Clancy has today posted an event in Tipp too, so it seems to be coming along nicely.
I doubt I'll make a Sunday afternoon session, but perhaps a longer one or perhaps we may have a day in Wicklow somewhere, during the summer?
Hi Dublin Sketchers. - but I can't keep calling you that or comment on some of the interesting work you posted. Lots of good things amongst them and I especially like Tracy's drawings here.
How about putting your own name and face to this page and then encouraging some of your fellow members to do likewise. I'm sure it will work better that way and you'll get some worthwhile interaction going. As for Dublin Sketchers' group page, that can be limited to DS members if you wish and its a good way to contact specifically members of your own group.
How far afield do you normally venture for a day's sketching?
Hi there. Thanks for joining and launching a group page. Hope your members will visit the site and see how easy it is to post a photo of artwork. You can post your outings on the Events tab and say whether its open or 'members only'. That's up to you.
Anyway, it would be good to put a face onto your profile. Enjoy the site and comments welcome.
