What seems like a pile of stones in a bare field rewards a closer look. I was enchanted by the spare palette and the textures of rock and moss. From April onwards a herd of cattle - and a bull - making it a bit risky to paint there.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments. I have to say I gasped when I saw the well for the first time - anyone would, it was such a surprise in a big empty field.

Great rendition of different textures in a deceptively simple watercolour. Love this.
