Hey David ..how you do'in ??

The Exhibition in Enniscorthy looks really impressive. The new venue (Enniscorthy library), and "showing them in the location they were painted, has given me a new appreciation of the works!

I think the people of Enniscorthy received it well, and are appreciating their town all the more.

The Exhibition runs until September 9th.  Did you have a good birthday, and how did the showing of your works turn out??

I finally did rent a car in Wexford.  I am not brave enough to drive around Dublin.  I'll go exploring after the festival.  I have one place to stay with some friends near Connemara.  Looking forward to meeting everyone in a couple weeks.

That's great news David..you'll be here a couple of days early?? Fantastic you'll get to look around and relax into it! You can tell we're all getting excited about the festival? Your in for a treat this year :))

I'll email you regarding accommodation - it's no problem. Talk soon!!

Hey David...It was a bit chilly in the morning alright, but it had completely turned around by the afternoon..shorts and t- shirts wouldn't have gone astray!! Make sure you prepare for all weathers for your trip across the pond!

Hey David.....not long now!!

Would you not be tired after traveling??

Hook head is "penciled in " for the Tuesday your arriving, which is probably a bit far .It takes roughly about 2 hours to travel down from Dublin...unless your taking the bus or train(which would be more like 3 hrs).

So if your arriving late morning on  Tuesday, allowing for food stops etc..it could be 3/4 o clock before you get down to Wexford.

Not too late perhaps for an evening paintout...but check your "tired gage" first!!

Looking forward to seeing you both again!

I'm not sure if I am brave enough to drive out of Dublin.  I've never driven on the left side.  I thought I could handle it out of a smaller area, but Dublin might be more than I want to handle all at once.  I'm still looking.  Thanks!

Thanks, David.  I am still looking into either bus or car.  I would like to rent a car, but it looks like the car hire in Wexford, I couldn't rent the car and bring it back on the day I need to be back in Wexford before I have to go to Dublin to fly home.  I am very excited about the whole time in Ireland!

Hi David,

The National Bus Service is Bus Eireann. Here's a link:

http://www.buseireann.ie/

Connemara covers a wide area of Co.Galway

Galway City is a good base to start from.

I can't find a  direct route from Wexford to Galway, and seems to require links going from either :

Wexford-Limerick-Galway

or

Wexford - Dublin-Galway

From Wexford I still think that hiring a car would give much more flexibility, and less time traveling, particularly if they want to explore certain areas in connemara.

If they plan the journey well, and especially if a stop in Athlone is scheduled, driving shouldn't be too stressfull

I'll look into the public transport services, and will have more details for you tomorrow...

Hi David.

If I type in car rental Ireland on the internet, the general price range per weeks car rental from Dublin Airport seems to be around 100 euro for a one liter car for a week.

Did you find renting a car helpful last year? You know you'll have a lift with myself or others if you decide not to rent this year.

If the other artist is thinking of traveling further than Wexford during they're stay..for convenience and freedom (if it were me), I think I'd hire a car. There are many locations to stop and explore, which public transport may not allow for in flexibility.

Let me know if you'd like me to check anything out in more detail for you..

Karen
