I’m presently helping artist/educator Vicki Norman to organise a plein air workshop in May. The details are as follows. Give me a call (087 954 2783) if you need any further info. Best wishes Frank Hallinan Flood
5 days of painting on location in the beautiful surroundings to the north of Dublin. Tackling a different aspect of plein air painting each day, we will visit stunning sites with tonnes of inspiration for all.
We'll begin with a short study session each morning, a demonstration, discussion or presentation on themes such as how to select a subject, designing a painting, matching and harmonising colours, capturing atmosphere and creating focal areas. Then we'll head out to paint the wonderful boats, harbours, beaches and countryside.
With friendly support and guidance we will explore the possibilities of painting in the elements. This workshop is open to artists in all media with some experience of painting in their chosen medium.
Fee per person is 295 euros. Places may be secured with a 150 euro deposit.
Bookings are for the full 5 days from 10:00am to 5 :00pm
Please note that the fee includes the workshop only. No accommodation, meals or materials are included.

Glad to be there-in spirit anyways. Keep up the good work, Niamh. There is enormous energy in your painting and brushwork and your colours (note the proper spelling of color!!) improve with each painting.
Hi Niamh Yes indeed we related thru Clare. She says to say hello and regards to your mum. Nan was'nt well recently but is grand now. Your work looks strong and expressive. I really like the tree paintings.
Ok, we'll keep an eye out for you.
Margaret is great for getting folks to join. I've only seen her gentle side but there must be a steely one as well because it seems no-one dares refuse her.
Hi Niamh. That's a pretty big painting in your photo to be working outside. Especially near a cliff! Fair play to you. You definitely belong here. Do you paint on your own or with a group of friends?
