Following up on a request from Sally Downey to have a go at more portraits here's one of my God daughter Sheila, rendered today. Happy enough with it, but sadly doesn't really do such a gorgeous girl justice. Still will keep trying.

Thank you Norah, was happy with it, might try the boys next.
Ah thank you Sally, don't worry about losing your comments. Of course I took notice of your suggestion but still not confident enough to try from life. Still, photos are a start I suppose. Anyway with five boys don't think Sheila would have time to sit that long.
Hi Kevin, I am quite upset that my comments have disappeared. I did respond when I first saw Sheila's portrait. And it is quite possible that I neglected to press the Add Comment button. And then you mentioned that I might have missed your blog. So I recommented. I can’t believe I could have missed the comment button AGAIN. It’s the only explanation but it does sound like the dog ate my homework.
Let me say that I was flattered that you took any notice of my suggestion. But isn’t it good that you did! It’s a beautiful painting of Sheila. It’s so clear and bright and simple. And your god daughter comes through as a bright, happy and warm person. I love the angle you chose. It gives a lovely intimate feel. It’s a really lovely portrayal of a beautiful girl.
PS and thanks for comment on Maherroarty.
Thats wonderful Kevin, I just found it now. It is great to see your studio work, your style shine through and it is a beautiful portrait
Cheers Kyrle, many thanks. Sheila was happy with it anyway so, mission accomplished I suppose. Here's the lady herself - for comparison
Welcome back Kevin or Tony or whoever you are ,This will be a wonderful memory for Sheila. great portrait. Your drawing is fantastic as usual.
Apologies Kevin, I had just signed off on an e-mail to Tony!
Many thanks John appreciate that......even if ya did call me Tony Ha ha. No, was happy with it to a certain degree and Sheila loved it herself, so that was good.
Love it Tony. Your clean lines and minimalist washes that I know from your landscapes are very evident even in this subject.
