Plein Eire

Your site for outdoor painting

Tony Robinson's trial blog:

While some headed for the Maldives or the auld gite during winter, like many other plein air Paddies, I head towards the warmth of the life-drawing studio. So the drawings below aren't plein air but they are what fills the vacuum (when plein air isn't there).
This is a selection of drawings made during the RHA marathon week (you pay to go) in November 2009. There are 3 more of these week-long sessions during March, April and May and I'd recommend them to anyone interested in life-drawing (ie great models, very professionally run, lots of interesting participants and very friendly)

Tony Walker. (Charcoal and chalk on Milano)

Angelique ((Charcoal)

Angelique (Pencil)

Des gesturing (Chalks on Milano paper)

Martin Standing Pose (Charcoal)

This is a trial run to see if a blog of life work doesn't interfere with the integrity of our plein air site. Comments welcome.

Might chance a few paintings next, if all goes well.

Really nice life drawing, great character and beautiful lines. Life drawing is something I tried to get into - going to the Trinity Arts Workshop classes, but I found it very difficult. I obsess about detail and I couldn't relax!
