The Brian Boru Festival is the highlight of the year in Killaloe for many years now , and they have a serious focus on Painting. This yera they have invited Plein-eire to come and paint for the day on the 30th of June and the Quay Arts Gallery will put on a special exhibition of the work produced at 7pm…

hi Guys
a few of you have mentioned that you are nervous about your first time plein-air ..........
why not break in gently by working in a sketchbook? You will really enjoy it , as long as you aren't trying to produce a book that is to become an heirloom ..................
don't be precious..this is your space, private and personal. a place to grow and develop as an artist
give it a go ..it's a lot less scary than a big canvas

Hi Annemarie,
I was delighted to come across your site last week .It is a wonderful opportunity for Artists. Being an oil painter I have got in to the habit of doing most of the work in the studio which slows the process a lot !. I am looking forward to getting out and about ( I have a lot to learn).

The weather at Macroom was wet and windy, only three of us turned up Jack, Helen and Anne, so we decided to call it a day, lets hope the weather is kinder next month.
