Maybe Carlingford could be used for paint-out sometime??
Aw thanks Sally..I'm actually in Sligo but was walking in beautiful Carlingford for that blissfully hot weekend ..such stunning countryside!
Thank you Meg. I see you are in Carlingford on our side of the country. Not sure yet where we are going on Saturday but you are very welcome to join us.
Love it Sally. The strong contrast really shows off the beautiful blossoms.
an elegant painting!
I agree, it has a short life, but this is a lovely study of it
Dee, Norah and Caroline, than you al very much for your comments. Its very sad to see the whitethorn go for another year although there are still a few examples here and there.
Dee (McKiernan), thank you for your comment. I deleted the original image. Had to do something about the composition and the dark shape on the left. So this is the new improved version.
Lovely job. You have captured it - knew it was Hawthorn. A lot of people think there is only white in it, and there is more than one colour in it, also love the movement of it.
I have never studied a thorn tree up close Sally - all those petals and so many shades of white, the dark tones underneath really set it off
