I think I'll go with your theory Patrick.
My mother told me yesterday that a profusion of hawthorn blooms is a harbinger of a
hard cold winter. I'd like to think that that they follow a hard cold winter.
Love your whitethorn painting, Sally. I always watch out for the pink version and it is quite rare. It's marvellous how it creates its own centre of interest by contrast, in the dark green of the Irish landscape.
Thanks for noticing that Patrick. I know you have a leaning towards hedges if I may say so. They are beautiful. Might try another one today.
I like the contrast of the white and green and you have just enough pink in there to. It is a really symbolic of this time of year. Well done Sally
