Didn't make it to Ferns with SEPA on Sunday last unfortunately, but was coming through that way yesterday and managed to get this little effort down. No drawing, just with brush only. Great for the patience.

Ah thank you Norah. I have been in contact with Santa last week and I am hoping he brings me a couple of squirrel mops for my stocking this year.

I think you have done the ground work Kevin with all your drawings so its coming naturally to you do draw with the brush.  I got a nice new mop synthetic a few weeks ago in Evans, its lovely to draw with. I love the atmospheric touch you have achieved, winter is great for painting

Many thanks Kyrle don't know about drawing with a sweeping brush though, might be difficult to dip it into me palette ha ha.

Yes the David Howell book is very good. Amazing painter.

I agree with John and also Sheila,Kevin  It'l add to the work, I believe you could draw with a sweeping brush if you wanted to, so a watercolour one is easy for you LOL.The David Howell book is supposed to be great. I watched a video of him....magical.

Cheers Sheila and John. The lichens were run in wet-on-wet Sheila. Thank you John, yea I recently bought a book by English artist David Howell who uses this technique on all his work.  I have sent for his dvd to study it more, so hopefully will produce more in this vein soon. Glad you like it.

Nice one Kevin, I think drawing with the brush is adding another dimension to your paintings and it makes you emphasise your darks more, which I like!

Wow you’re so accurate even without drawing! Love how you got the lichens on the gravestones in
