Following a morning of brilliant sunshine, last Sunday afternoon was a bit disappointing becoming mostly cloudy. I joined a few SEPA members at a paint-out there. I chose this scene because it was mostly in shadow and would look much the same whether the sun came out or not.

Thanks Ed. Nothing about painting is easy!
Very much like how you control the focus Michael—not as easy as you make it look.
Thanks Mary Brigid and Deirdre. Plein air painting can be both frustrating and exhilarating. I was disappointed to find it overcast at Tintern Abbey following a lovely sunny morning down at Slade. So I just nipped in under the trees here thinking that if the sun came back out it wouldn't change that much. I didn't really expect to produce anything memorable, but a lot of people seem to like this.
Thats fantastic michael.
Beautiful work Micheal
Thanks Maria. I love painting choppy water like this. It calls for a fine balance between looseness and control - all too easy to finish up with a muddy mess!
Waw, incredible
