Thanks Antti. I think I'm at my best looking out to sea (my ancestors were all fishermen in South West Ireland!). Hopefully, I'm free to attend more of AITO next year and we get a chance to paint together.

This painting has a unbelievable, lively effect. It has to be seen in real world to really see the water come alive. Amazing!

That's an interesting observation, Ed. I've always felt that something happens when painting en plein air that has something to do with how the experience impacts on all one's senses. Maybe I subconsciously caught the rythym of the crashing waves in the foreground rocks and landmass.
