I painted this while on a day trip to the little village of Altthymen during last week's Pleinair Berlin-Brandenburg event. I was lucky to get there early enough to capture this contre-jour light effect. It's oil on 11" x 14" MDF board.

Thanks Meg, Sally and John. And, yes, John, I've done some scenes recently with buildings - it's all about getting interesting light though - need to get up earlier!

Wonderful composition Michael and your inclusion of buildings in some recent pictures is really adding impact to the paintings.

Lovely, soft where it needs to be soft.

Thanks John and Tony. One of those where less was more - I had to stop myself doing too much!
