SEPA is an association of amateur and professional painters who paint together regularly outdoors in S.E. Ireland. All artists are welcome. SEPA organises Ireland's 'Art in the Open' plein air festival. SEPA membership is free. NB. As with all Paint-Outs posted on Plein Eire, these events are simply notifications of intent by one individual to be at a particular place and time to paint. Each member's participation is entirely at his/her own risk. No responsibility for harm or loss of person or property on the part of anyone else is intended or implied.

For photos of SEPA's previous paint outs, click on this link: SEPA photos

Here are a few ideas for paint-out venues. Please add your own suggestions and we'll get a schedule together for the coming weeks. Your addfitional recommendations welcome.

Ballinkeele House

Newtownbarry House & Gardens

Dunamore Wood (Borodale) (no facilities)

Rosslare Harbour Lagoon

Tinahely

Wexford Beaches

Wexford Gardens

The Still Pond, near Enniscorthy

As ever, it is weather permitting, so in case the organiser needs to cancel, please indicate by RSVP for each event so a single message will let everyone know if an event is 'On' or 'Off'.

In particular, it seems smaller villages where we have access to coffee and a bite and a chance to say'hello' are sought-after venues. Here are some suggestions:

Courtown, Ferns, Leighlin Bridge,Cahore, Aughrim, Clara Lara, and Carnew have all been suggested for Sunday, or a later date. i think as people don't seem to mind, we'll stick with Courttown. I know the harbor area is quiet nice, there's a chipper etc.  If anyone knows anything about the surrounding area, please let us know...

There's a chance of rain in late afternoon, so i guess the sooner we get started on Sunday,  the better!

I hav'nt painted plein air before so would love some advice about easels or other equipment. When I'm organised I would love to join in a paint out.

Next Sunday we'll head off to another paint out somewhere..any thoughts on a preferred location?

North Wexford, might benefit some of our crew that travel down to us regularly,  Courttown perhaps? as the tourist season is panning out. All suggestions welcome, and we'll try to make a decision by Thursday.

As we go - to paint plein air

'Scoop-la-Scannell is always there

Camera poised at every angle

Spot her and your nerves - 'a-jangle'!

Someone please - try steal her camera

Then all relax - no more dilemma

Of how your face, captured in rictus

Ends up on Scannell's file called pix.us

But then again, we'd have no sense

Of how the day's Plein Eire went

So Scannell, you once again may 'Flash'

-No pics of me - I'll pay you cash!

RTE's Nationwide is broadcasting an earlier SEPA paint-out to Clonegal, Co. Carlow and the forthcoming Art in the Open plein air painting festival on Wednesday 20th July.

Anyone know what a widget is?

There was a "whisper" last Sunday, of possibly painting in Wexford, next paint out, as a "warm up"......what are your thoughts?

We've been "blessed with the weather, on our last few paint outs, and have had really enjoyable days. Here's a link to a short blog, and more photos of our paintout in New Ross last Sunday
