SEPA is an association of amateur and professional painters who paint together regularly outdoors in S.E. Ireland. All artists are welcome. SEPA organises Ireland's 'Art in the Open' plein air festival. SEPA membership is free. NB. As with all Paint-Outs posted on Plein Eire, these events are simply notifications of intent by one individual to be at a particular place and time to paint. Each member's participation is entirely at his/her own risk. No responsibility for harm or loss of person or property on the part of anyone else is intended or implied.

For photos of SEPA's previous paint outs, click on this link: SEPA photos

Here are a few ideas for paint-out venues. Please add your own suggestions and we'll get a schedule together for the coming weeks. Your addfitional recommendations welcome.

Ballinkeele House

Newtownbarry House & Gardens

Dunamore Wood (Borodale) (no facilities)

Rosslare Harbour Lagoon

Tinahely

Wexford Beaches

Wexford Gardens

The Still Pond, near Enniscorthy

As ever, it is weather permitting, so in case the organiser needs to cancel, please indicate by RSVP for each event so a single message will let everyone know if an event is 'On' or 'Off'.

In particular, it seems smaller villages where we have access to coffee and a bite and a chance to say'hello' are sought-after venues. Here are some suggestions:

That's good news Margaret, btw there's talk of Obama visiting the JFK Homestead this year...I wonder could we paint there at some point ??

I was down in Loftus Hall last September when the straw bales were in the fields and it was beautiful, they have made a super walkway right down onto the rocks.........stunning ........and another view of Hook head.I would imagine the cafe etc is seasonal but would be worth the wait.

In a theoligal sense, we could start with Loftus Hall then! Leave it with me until next weeK

What if we took a Historical Theme this year ? It may not bring us to the most devastatingly beautiful Locations, but i like the idea of learning a little about our Counties History..as to be honest I haven't much of a clue about Wexfords Past...?

Each paint out wouldn't HAVE to have a historical Connection, but it would be preferable .....

I'll make sure not to play cards with anyone, Karen!

Another thought is Carnivan Beach. Just down the road from Fethard with all the necessary facilities. If people were directed to the car park(s) overlooking the beach, it's quite safe, and the beach itself can be great on a sunny day.

Good idea Micheal...I'll say a prayer for ya :)

I wonder what the new owners have in mind for Loftus Hall, Karen, but it would be great to get a chance to paint there (supposedly great rocky seascape behind the house). I'd be happy to drive in there (I'm not afraid of you know who!) and ask the next time I'm down that way.

A little bit of sunshine today, holds promise that we can get our schedule organised for this year !!

Here's a link to a website, with areas around the South East, we may like to travel to ........Have a look, and let us know where you'd like to paint...

If you know of a good location near where you live, please put the suggestion forward, thanks.
