Your Site For Artists Who Paint Outdoors

I’m very surprised that nobody has mentioned “The Great Art Robbery” which according to today’s local paper happened early last Friday morning. I haven’t contributed much to the site lately but I do keep an eye on it and it’s hard to believe nobody knows about it.

I mentioned it to a couple of people this morning and one said “Wow, what a compliment to have your painting stolen”. Another said uncharitably “They stole them for the frames”. Apparently they used a beer keg to smash the windows, injuring themselves in the process and squirted a tube of blue paint around. The Gardai were said to be looking for a bloodied and tipsy smurf up and down the Main St.

Very droll.

In fact you could say it was a scream, except that one was nicked from a Norwegian gallery several years ago, I believe.

Come to think of it...aren't the Smurfs from Norway? - or was that the trolls? Yes, very troll. And so was Olaf. He was another blooming comedian.
Clifford communications on behalf of The Artist ;Paul Maloney wish to deny rumours "art heist "was staged by the artist with pop group impresario Mr Walsh and fellow artist Mr Hirst. No futher comment will be made on the subject.
Paul......I know I've admired that painting often enough...I promise you it's not hanging over my fireplace! ;)
Met Paul today and he drew my attention to the fact that, according to Thepaper, somebody has been arrested after the paintings were found in a "premises" in Thomas St. Where is Thomas St and what premises are there?
Paul said he didn't want to comment and his legal Dept. are dealing with it!
Was the painting in the link the one stolen? Too bad! So sorry for the loss, Paul. Hmmm....should be able to find someone with blood and blue paint on them....weaving around the town. All I know about Smurfs is that our girls liked them briefly when they were little. Went to an amusement park once when they were small and they wanted to eat in the Smurf area. You can imagine....everything was blue, ice cream, drinks, etc. Can't imagine how many different weird things were in those foods! Yuk! My mother's whole side of the family is Swedish, they have gnomes, known as tomte. They mostly live in the barns on farms, and commune with the animals, making mischief now and then if not taken care of well.
