Hello.  I have a question for those of you in the know about Wexford.  I am looking at a place to stay while there, and found a hostel, Kirwan House.  Now, I am not of the age of backpackers, and don't want to bunk with a whole lot of people, but at the same time, I like the price, and it seems close to everything in the heart of the town.  They say I should book early, since things fill up.  Does anyone know anything about this place, or another place that might be good/better?  Thank you!

Hi Elaine,

I don't know anything about this place but I will find out for you and get back to you. Or maybe somebody with more knowledge of the town will reply in the meantime.

Regards

Hi Elaine,

Yes , I know of Kirwan House - I know its original owner, but not sure if he still owns it now. It appears to be a hostel of very good quality and indeed is very close to all you would ask to paint in Wexford. It is situated at the top end of Mary Street, one minute from our Franciscan friary (see my page- churches), two minutes from Wexford Opera House, five minutes from the Main Street shopping area and within walking distance of our twin churches and quays. I shall endeavour to find more information about the actual hostel for you over the coming days.

all the best

Kevin

Thank you!

Thank you.  I figured that there would be quite a few students about, which is fine with me.  As long as I can sleep, and it's clean, I'm fine.  I don't need all the foo foo.  I think I will go ahead and book.  I need to ask them how they do that.  If I book with a credit card, how do they transfer that into Euros?  I'll ask.  Thanks!  Are you going back to Art in The Open this year?

That would make sense, to pay in cash.  They did say you could reserve rooms, so I wonder how that works.  I emailed them, and will wait to see what they say.  Thanks!   Where are you coming from?
