Garry, a member of Plein Eire Boyne Valley and Plein Eire Dublin, always looked forward to the paint-outs in his native Skerries and North County Dublin locations, and although his illness curtailed the duration of his participation on occasion, he still came out to fondly meet and greet and share in the friendship and camaraderie of his fellow painters.

May he rest in peace.

So excited to launch my new website! There are some photos on there of when I hauled my equipment to Ireland and painted your beautiful countryside! I love it! Check it out when you have time. www.pattyobrienart.com

Nearly always do oils in one go. But a touch up? how to get new paint to bond and blend into a picture done 3 weeks ago . Any ideas?

interested in different mediums too. Tend to like an oily look. Some suggest no medium. I found that too dry. I use the student quality paint. Its fine except lemon yellow , has thin covering power. Student paint, winton is cheap and I can put it on thick. I’m not so amazed by the expensive stuff but maybe I just don’t know

Hi there from the USA! I am organizing a trip for my Atelier group based outside Washington, DC for a visit to Ireland in the summer of 2019. I would appreciate anything you as Plein Air painters familiar with really good places to paint around Dublin and also Galway (near Oranmore to the south) could recommend. We will of course be seeing the sights and the Museums in Dublin but are open to suggestions from the "natives" and would also love to meet up if time permits. There will be approximately 15 people in our group. I am trying to find out the times for the Plein Air festivals in Dublin and Wexford for the summer of 2019 but so far haven't found any info. Anyone know those dates yet? Any and all tips, ideas, or advice is greatly appreciated!!

Regards,

hello from Fredericksburg Virginia, USA. I will be traveling to Ireland April 15-29th. My husband has an orthopedic meeting in Westport at Knockcranny Hotel and Spa. We are renting a car and coming from Dublin where we fly in. After four days in Westport we are going to head up to Northern Ireland (we did lower Ireland last year). This year my husband is insisting I ship my paints over and paint! Is there a place to buy gamsol in Dublin? Also is there anyone near the hotel that would like to…

We are renting a car and coming from Dublin where we fly in. After four days in Westport we are going to head up to Northern Ireland (we did lower Ireland last year). This year my husband is insisting I ship my paints over and paint! Is there a place to buy gamsol in Dublin? Also is there anyone near the hotel that would like to paint one day? Please let me know! I would LOVE to meet other artists. I founded a plein Air group here. It is going strong! We have 8-10 artists, sometimes 15 show up each week to paint! I think I can ship my paints over, just not sure about the gamsol. Can contact me on Facebook under Patty OBrien fredericksburg if anyone wants to correspond, thank you!!!!
When and wheretag:pleineire.ning.com,2017-07-28:4851125:Topic:1894442017-07-28T18:18:08.209ZLynda Moorehttp://pleineire.ning.com/profile/LyndaMoore
