Can't believe it has been seven years since I added a discussion on this page. It was fun and I enjoyed reading back over the contributions to my statements, some would say "shit stirring"! I'm proud to say some of my "muck raking" was removed in the past.

Anyway, my question this morning is this. Can you name a great representational artist, not living, who could not draw?

Quite often, this question arises in discussions, a rental space, is a current topic, North of Dublin, a free community space for a non political, recognised NGO promoting an artistic hub on the northside of the city,. comments or suggestions very welcome.
Quite often, this question arises in discussions, a rental space, is a current topic, North of Dublin, a free community space for a non political, recognised NGO promoting an artistic hub on the northside of the city,. comments or suggestions very welcome. The space could be well maintained providing a creative environment for artists and non professionals alike, the plus side being that it would promote visual art on the Northside of the city, some of these projects have been very succesful, but unfortunately due to the downturn in the economy many have lacked the necessary funding to promote such spaces, or sadly some private organisations have seen these groups in a different light as perhaps competitors, not recognising the potential that they offer.

What is it all about? Bring the art supply of your choice and get drawing, painting, doodling, crafting, whatever you have in mind - along with a nice drink (not necessarily alcoholic of course) and great creative company. Everybody is welcome, no matter if you just picked up a pencil the first time in your life or if you're a passionate artist for years. No skill level aquired, it's all about the fun and it's free!
Drying problemtag:pleineire.ning.com,2012-02-15:4851125:Topic:801782012-02-15T11:54:59.838ZFrank Hallinan Floodhttp://pleineire.ning.com/profile/FrankHalliananFlood

Frequently my paintings loose their lustre as they dry. What looks vibrant and fresh when first painted seem to flatten out and loose definition. Has anyone had this problem? Is it to do with using too much white spirit and not enough oil in the painting process? Any tips appreciated.

I'm thinking Thursday 25th, for our second outing. Wexford Quay at 5.30 - 6pm.. If you have somewhere near your locality that you think will work..go for it! I'd advise trying to limit it to an hour, as the weather at the moment means it can get cold v. quickly. Wear extra thermals, bring a flask of "something", a headlamp( make sure you have it on the right setting), and if you can paint in a group..all the better!..

Hi all. My niece, Kristen, is traveling to Ireland from the states next spring, I think around May. She is going with two or three other girls, they are all late twenties. One of them has always wanted to go, and it is her birthday, so she wants to go over and rent a place, for a week. Question.....where would be a good place for them to go? Any good recommendations on places to stay? Things to do, etc.? Kristen is married, and isn't into partying a lot, I doubt her friends are either,…

One of them has always wanted to go, and it is her birthday, so she wants to go over and rent a place, for a week. Question.....where would be a good place for them to go? Any good recommendations on places to stay? Things to do, etc.? Kristen is married, and isn't into partying a lot, I doubt her friends are either, although they would enjoy a pub now and then. My niece loves to shop, but then I think she is thinking this will be more of a "stay in one place" kind of trip, and bike around, meet people, etc. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance! (no they won't be painting, but they like looking at art!) My niece loves to travel and loves history.
