<p>Great photo Sean,..no petrol bills, no tax and insurance, no (or very little) air-pollution, no road-rules, no seat-belt fines, no drunk driving fines, (it was largely self driven anyway), no changing head-light bulbs, no horn needed as a polite hello worked fine, no bald tyre fines, no driving test, no need to mark the middle of the road, no rush hour, no road deaths from mobile phones, ......oh dear oh dear, where's my De'Lorean so I can go back to the future.</p>

<p>A lovely photo Sean. Life was definately harder long ago. No washing machines, microwaves, central heating-I wouldn't have survived! My father talked about this type of transport, and this was how he went to school every day, with a piece of turf with each child for the school fire, and his family were one of the lucky families, as they had shoes. A very hard life.</p>

<p>But my mother described to me the family having what they called a Back-to-Back like this for transport.</p>
<p>That was what was referred to in films and the media as a an Irish jaunting car.…</p>
